Reinforcing in Game of War
Today, a pesky tick has settled himself into our hive. He was making his rounds on our farms. When he marched on an stronghold 19 alliance mate, I quickly reinforced it with 225k mixed strat Tier 4. So what happens when reinforcing in Game of War ?
How Does Tier 3 Defeat Strat T4 WTF?!
Somehow, his 250k Tier 3 Armored Pikemen, NO HERO, march killed more of my Tier 4 than his heroeless Tier 3 march. There was only 25k more t3 than t4 and he killed substantially more of my troops.
How Could This Happen?
In the above example, the reinforced stronghold’s hero wasn’t skilled in combat. However, the attacking march did not receive hero combat boosts either. Therefore, this battle was a straight troop boosts and research battle. So, it appears that your troops lose your research tree attributes and take on those of the stronghold you reinforce. If so, originally I believed this to be poor game mechanics for reinforcing strongholds.
If I reinforce a stronghold, my troops shouldn’t suddenly forget the maxed combat research they’ve learned and take on that of the stronghold 19 combat research tree which doesn’t even have Tier 4 researched. However, after seeing this battle report it is obvious that my troops act as simply the highest tier troop he has researched. You would expect to see these results in a 250k Tier 3 Cavalry vs. 225k Tier 3 Mixed battle report.
Bottom line, if you intend to reinforce an alliance mate, be sure of a few things before doing so.
- Hero home and proper war gear is equipped.
- Troops at home, check for fake or ghost rally.
- Research tree substantially equal to opposing attacker.
- If none of the above, do you have substantially higher numbers as a result of reinforcing?
Had this been a troop tier kill event I would have given the outlanders many points as a result. So, understanding now how reinforcing works, be cautious to whom you are sending your troops!
